One of the newest project groups to work closely with Airbnb.
Last week, construction equipment was delivered to the downtown Miami site where the sold-out District 225 tower is planned. The developers had previously said that the groundbreaking was going to happen in the third quarter of 2022.
According to records, the construction of this building is planned to go through stages, including a phased foundation, vertical permits, and finally the installation of the roof which is still pending. A private provider of permits is being used to speed up the review process. As per the water and sewer utility agreement signed with the county in January, District 225 will include 343 apartments and 2,297 square feet of retail. The proposed 37-story tower will be built without a parking garage.
Craft Construction is the contractor listed in the permit. Sieger Suarez is the architect who designed the building. The development of the District 225 tower in Miami, which was a joint effort by ROVR Development, BH Group, and Related Group, has seen an “overwhelming response” from the buyers so far, with all units now sold.
It’s also worth mentioning that the project is unique in that it has a very first kind agreement with Airbnb, the world’s leading accommodation platform and home-sharing company, which will allow direct listing on the platform. The building will be professionally managed by Atlantic and Pacific, with staff trained to handle everything about Airbnb hosting from listing to maintenance.
The development team who were in charge of the sale were very pleased to see that the buyer group had a diverse range of members. They included people like young professionals, domestic transplants, and remote workers who value the ability to work from literally anywhere. Latin American buyers make up the bulk of sales, with Colombia and Mexico leading the pack.
